Driver crashes into Paynesville City Hall

PAYNESVILLE -- The outside of City Hall in Paynesville will have to be rebuilt after someone crashed into the southwest wall.
No one was hurt Wednesday afternoon when the driver crashed into a cinderblock column between two windows of the building.
Mayor Jeff Thompson says the damage is extensive. City employees could see through the exterior wall before the hole was patched with sheets of plywood.
Just a few months ago, the city finished remodeling the inside of City Hall.
Thompson says a building inspector has looked at the damage and told officials there's nothing requiring urgent repairs.
