Power back on in downtown St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD --  A spokesman for Xcel Energy says the power should be back on in downtown St. Cloud.  About 66 customers were without power from about 11:45 a.m. until about 1:30 p.m.  

Xcel says a bad cable caused the outage.

The outage affected traffic along the Highway 23 detour.  The traffic lights by the St. Cloud Civic Center were, causing the traffic to back-up.

Orignially, the St. Cloud Public Library had said that they were going to close for the afternoon.  But then they decided to re-open at 2:00 p.m.
