Top 10 Stories: #8 - T. Rex exhibit Sue
by Jim Maurice, WJON.com

ST. CLOUD -- We continue our countdown of the Top 10 News Stories of 2009 with our #8 story of year.  It's a story about a very large -- and a very old -- visitor to Stearns County.

On September 20th the T. Rex exhibit "Sue" opened at the Stearns History Museum.

The exhibit is the largest and most ambitious display ever for the Stearns History museum. At 42-feet long and 12-feet high, the "Sue" replica takes-up a lot of space. And there's also 10 separate displays.

It's the most complete best-preserved Tyrannosaurus Rex ever discovered. It roamed North America about 67-million years ago, and was found near Faith, South Dakota in 1990.

For St. Cloud to have this worldwide traveling exhibit is quite rare, The Stearns History Museum is the 2nd smallest museum to have the display.

The Exhibit will be on display in St. Cloud through January 3rd.
