Grab a bowl and help with $20,000 goal

ST. CLOUD -- You can join hundreds of others in getting serious about hunger and have fun doing it.
That's the attitude at the 9th Annual Empty Bowl event that is raising money for the St. Cloud Area Crisis Nursery and Place of Hope Ministries.
Facilitator of the Crisis Nursery Conni Orth says the whole mission is to end hunger in the community. Last year was a little disappointing with only $14,000 raised, but this year they are shooting for hitting $20,000 again.
The organizers spend months woriking into this, and we may not meet the goal we have in mind, but it's the awareness that it brings to the community which is the biggest benefit.
The soup feed benefit and silent auction is Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6 :00 p.m. at the Paramount Arts Theatre.
Those who buy the soup, receive a handcrafted "benefactor" bowl.
