Pierz woman hurt as deer goes through windshield

OSSEO, Wis. -- A deer hit by a van on Interstate 94 penetrated the windshield and injured a front-seat passenger. 

The Wisconsin State Patrol said the accident near Osseo on Monday sent 47-year-old Georgia Kretschmar of Pierz, Minn., to Luther Hospital in Eau Claire for treatment of non-life-threatening
injuries. 

The hospital declined to provide any information on her status Monday night. 

The driver and a back-seat passenger had minor injuries that did not require hospital care.
