FOLEY -- Benton County is a busy place for road construction projects this summer.
Benton County is using a combination of road bonds, gas tax, vehicle tax and local levy dollars to fund a number of projects this year.
A $1-million project on County Road 43 near Foley High School is creating wider lanes, wider shoulders and more gradual banks making for a safer road.
County State Aid Highway 13 between Golden Spike Road and County Road 58 is a 4.3-mile project which replaces culverts and pavement.
County Highway 13 -- also known as Little Rock Road -- is a highly traveled east-west route between Highways 10 and 25. A project started last year at the other end of Highway 13 wrapped up this spring.
Finally, County Road 43 will undergo construction this year with a 3.7-mile segment between Golden Spike Road to Trunk Highway 25. New culverts and new pavements will cost $750,000.
Projects scheduled for next year include major work on County Road 78 and County Road 55.
