ST. CLOUD -- Work has started at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex which will make the hockey arena "green."

Arena Operations Manager Todd Bissett says they needed to replace an aging Torrey arena floor and coolant system, so they thought it would make sense to install an energy-friendly Geo-Exchange system.

He says it's expected to save them up to 120-thousand dollars a year on their utility bills.

Bissett says they hope to have the new concrete floor in by August First and have the arena ready to use by mid-September.

The project cost of one-point-seven million dollars will be paid for through existing dollars in the MAC budget.
