IRS:  It's not too late to file for a rebate

UNDATED -- The I-R-S says there are still about 2,800 people in the St. Cloud area that are eligible for an economic stimulus check, but haven't filed for one yet.

They're encouraging retirees and disabled veterans to check and see if they're eligible.

The 2,800 people include about 1,600 in Stearns County, 830 in Sherburne, and 340 in Benton.

For those who don't normally file, the payment is typically $300.

The deadline to file a return for a payment is October 15th. 

As of last week, the I-R-S has issued 112.4 million checks, worth nearly $92 billion.
