Local group will help clean-up Iowa town

ST. CLOUD -- A group of Central Minnesotans will be spending the weekend in Iowa, helping  one town recover from the spring floods.

The group "Central Minnesota Helps" will send about a dozen people to Elkader, Iowa.

Spokesman Greg Vandal says they'll be leaving early Saturday morning, and will return late Sunday night. 

They'll be assigned to help clean-up Elkader's parks and public areas.

Vandal says it's possible that they could send more teams of volunteers in the future.
