Clemens family to donate $250K for statues in gardens
by Lee Voss, WJON.com

ST. CLOUD -- A new sculpture is going into the Clemens and Munsinger Gardens soon.

The Clemens Family and Central Minnesota Community Foundation are giving the city 250-thousand dollars for a Historical Memorial to the Gardens.

It will be life-sized statues of Bill and Virginia Clemens and ironwork similar to the existing pieces in the gardens.

City Parks Director Scott Zlotnik says it is a fitting tribute to the main benefactors behind the gardens.

Zlotnik says once the city council formally approves the donation at Monday night's meeting, the work can begin on creating and installing the pieces.
