Dist 742 levy questions taking shape
by Jim Maurice, WJON.com

ST. CLOUD -- Officials with the St. Cloud Area School District are getting more specific about the operating levy questions that will be on the November ballot.

The school board asked the administration to come up with a recommendation for them.

Chairwoman Deb Lalley says they're recommending two questions, asking for $11.2 million.

The first question would ask for $8.5 million a year for things like restoring the fund balance, rising transportataion costs, and all day kindergarten.

The second question would ask for an additional $2.7 million to focus on things like extra curricular activities, gifted and talented programs, and music.

Lalley says the board plans to make their final decisions on the ballot questions next month.

You'll be able to comment on the possible levy questions on the district's website beginning this Friday.
