Making the Mississippi a "crown jewel" topic of fall meetings

ST. CLOUD -- A grassroots effort is being organized to take better advantage of one of St. Cloud's best features -- the Mississippi River.
The Central Minnesota Community Foundation will be hosting a series of meetings this fall.
The first one is on August 14th, and it's titled "Building a Masterpiece on the Mississippi".
Spokesman Glenn Tautges says community leaders from Dubuque, Iowa will be at the meeting to talk about the revitalization going on in their community.
Tautges says Dubuque has spent $188 million on their riverfront already, and another $200 million has been earmarked for the second phase.
Other meeting topics include: "Local Riverfront Development", and "Making St. Cloud a Vibrant River City".
