MetroBus to consider fare increase

ST. CLOUD -- It may cost you more to ride St. Cloud's MetroBus soon.

Rising fuel prices have St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission members considering a nickel or dime increase.

But, M-T-C spokesman Tom Cruikshank says they are hoping additional riders will make up for most of the 200-thousand dollar budget hit from the high fuel prices.

Cruikshank says they have a fare increase scheduled for 2009, but could move it up if they need to.

He says they have to break down the revenue numbers from the additional riders they've seen so far this year first to see what impact it will have on the budget.
