Waite Park hosting regional baseball tournament

WAITE PARK -- Some of the best 15-year-old baseball players in the Midwest will be in Waite Park this weekend.

Waite Park Youth Baseball is hosting the "Midwest Plains Babe Ruth Regional Tournament".

It starts tomorrow (Thursday) and runs through Tuesday.

As the host team, Waite Park gets an automatic bid into the tournament. The other teams include the state champions from: North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas and Colorado.

The opening ceremonies will be at 6:30 tomorrow night.

And then the first game will be Waite Park versus Bismark, North Dakota at 7:30 p.m.

All games will be played at the MAC.

The tournament champion will advance to the Babe Ruth World Series in Van Buren, Arkansas.
