Spalt, Germany band coming to St. Cloud next year

ST. CLOUD -- A large delegation of people from St. Cloud's sister city of Spalt, Germany will be coming here next June.

During his weekly radio Town Hall meeting today (Friday) on WJON, Mayor Dave Kleis announced that the city is in the early planning stages for a "German Fest" in early June.

He says the Spalt municipal band, along with a delegation of about 70 people, will be coming here to perform next year.

Kleis says, if you're interested in hosting some members of the German delegation, call City Hall at 255-7201.

St. Cloud's Municipal Band, along with other St. Cloud officials, will be going to Spalt in 2010 -- to help them celebrate their 1-thousand-200 year anniversary.
