Local humane society mascot retires
by Megan Rinerson, WJON.com

ST. CLOUD -- A dog that has been part of the family at the local humane society has now retired.

Vicki Davis is the executive director at the Tri-County human society.

She says Phoneix, a german shepard, has been their mascot for eight years due to his unique story. Phoenix was severely burned after being drenched in diesel fuel and thrown into a bon-fire. He was then thrown off a bridge. Davis says it sounds horrible, but the cool water is probably what saved his life.

Last Friday, Pheonix retired on a farm and is enjoying laying in the grass every day.
