ST. CLOUD -- A construction company from Black River Falls, Wisconsin will build the new Highway 23 bridge in St. Cloud.
MnDOT announced today Lunda Construction was the winner of the contract bid to build the bridge. The winning bid is 12-point-2 million dollars.
Meanwhile, Rainbow Incorporated of Minneapolis will be paid 296-thousand dollars for the paint encapsulation project prior to dismantling the current bridge. The contract is needed because the DeSoto Bridge contains lead paint that needs to be captured prior to demolition. That work will start Monday.
Removal of the old bridge starts in late August.
