AUDIO: Man and his oxcart travel down Highway 10
by Jim Maurice, WJON.com

UNDATED -- A northern Minnesota man is retracing an old fur-trading trail through Central Minnesota. Orlin Ostby, and his ox Pum, are traveling along the "Pembina Oxcart Trail".

He says he's doing it to bring awareness to the State's 150th birthday.

Ostby left Pembina, which is near the Canadian border, on July 1st.

He says the northern part of the trail hasn't changed much over the years, but that's not the case here in Central Minnesota.   He says the old trail is now Highway 10.

Ostby says he's about half-way done with his journey.

This (Wednesday) morning he's leaving a farm six-miles north of Little Falls.

He travels about 10-miles a day. So, at that pace, he'll be coming through St. Cloud either on Friday or Saturday.

His goal is to make it to St. Paul in time for the start of the State Fair.
