AUDIO: 5k run to be held at Heritage Park

ST. CLOUD -- You can join the St. Cloud River Runners as they race around Heritage Park. The Granite City 5k will be held on Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Mayor Dave Kleis says he'll be participating again this year, and hopes Sartell Mayor Tim O'Driscoll runs too. He says if he wins, O'Driscoll will have to take him out to lunch.

Kleis says the terrain on this course is much different from other area 5k races, it includes tar, grass and dirt.  He says he prefers running on dirt and asphalt rather than grass.

Awards will be given out to the top three men and women in each category, along with the overall top male and female finishers.

If you would like to participate, you can sign up until 8:15 on Saturday. Otherwise, you're welcome to come out and cheer on the runners.
