A's Shutout Twins

The Twins were shutout 3-0 in Oakland Wednesday night. 

Chad Gaudin threw 7 shutout innings with 4 strikeouts to get the win. 

Mike Sweeney supplied the offense for the A's with 2 hits, a homerun and 2 RBI's. 

Boof Bonser threw 6 innings with 3 hits and 2 earned runs allowed but takes the loss and drops to 1-4.  Jason Kubel had 2 of the 6 Twins hits.  The Twins outhit Oakland 6-5. 

The Twins fall to 10-11 and are 1 1/2 games back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central. 

Minnesota wraps up the 3-game series in Oakland today at 2:35, pregame on WJON at 2:05. 

Lefthander Francisco Liriano (0-2) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Greg Smith (1-0) toes the rubber for A's.
