Three undrafted Gophers getting NFL shot

MINNEAPOLIS -- Three former Minnesota Gophers who went undrafted are going to get their shot in the NFL, anyway.

Fullback Justin Valentine signed with the Jets, receiver Ernie Wheelwright went to the Ravens and linebacker Mike Sherels is getting a tryout with the Vikings.

One former Gopher did get drafted this year. Safety Dominique Barber was selected in the sixth round by the Houston Texans.
