Kubel hitting well in dual role
by The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS -- Jason Kubel has been making the most of his playing time in rightfield and as the Twins' designated hitter.

The lefthanded hitter swatted his fourth homer of the season last night as the Twins beat the White Sox 3-1 in Minneapolis. That's the second most homers on the team behind Justin Morneau, who has six round-trippers.

Kubel also has 16 RBIs, which is also second on the team behind Morneau's 21.

Kubel and the Twins play the White Sox this afternoon at the Metrodome.
