WJON Sports


The Twins behind Boof Bonser shutdown the Chicago White Sox to the tune of a 3-1 win at the Metrodome Tuesday night.  Bonser threw 7 innings with 6 hits and 1 earned run allowed.  He struckout 8 and gets the win to improve to 2-4.  Joe Nathan threw the 9th inning to grab the save, his 8th.  Jason Kubel hit a 2-run homerun in the Twins 3-run 4th inning.  Mike Lamb hit a sacrifice fly scoring Delmon Young from 3rd base.  Young went 2-2 with 2 stolen bases for the Twins.  The Twins improve to 12-14 and are 2 1/2 games back of Chicago for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host the White Sox this afternoon closing out the 2-game series at 12:10, pregame on WJON at 11:40.  Righthander Nick Blackburn (1-1) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Nick Masset (0-0) toes the rubber for the White Sox.
