Former Vikings great Carl Eller appears in court, trial date set
by The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings great Carl Eller has appeared in court on charges stemming from an alleged scuffle with police last month.

Eller agreed to appear at a pretrial hearing July 29th, and a trial date was set for November fourth. He hasn't entered a plea.

The charges against Eller include assault on a Minneapolis police officer and making terroristic threats stemming from when he was arrested at his home April ninth for alleged drunken driving.

Eller, who appeared with his attorneys, declined to comment after the brief hearing before Hennepin County District Judge Margaret Daly.

Eller's latest run-in with police happened last week. Police say he didn't have special license plates on his motorcycle that indicate he had past alcohol-related driving offenses.
