Cuddyer moves to CF

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins moved Michael Cuddyer (cuh-DYE'-er) from right field to center field for last night's game against the Rangers at the Metrodome.
Back in January, on the day he signed a contract extension, Cuddyer heard manager Ron Gardenhire was contemplating moving him from right to center field to replace Torii Hunter. Cuddyer just chuckled and shrugged it off.
But it was no laughing matter last night as the Twins opened a four-game series with Texas.
With Carlos Gomez still nursing a sore wrist and veteran Craig Monroe getting a day off after three straight games in center field, Gardenhire moved Cuddyer over.
With the start in center field, the fifth-year veteran has played every position in the field for the Twins at least once -- except for pitcher and catcher.
