WJON Sports


The Twins scored 11 runs and beat the Texas Rangers 11-4 Tuesday night at the Metrodome.  Joe Mauer went 3-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI, Alexi Casilla went 2-4 with a run scored and 2 RBI's and Mike Lamb had 2 hits and 2 RBI's for the Twins.  Glen Perkins threw 6 1/3 innings with 6 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to earn his first major league win.   He's 1-1 this season.  The Twins improve to 23-22 and are now 1 1/2 games back of the Chicago White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host Texas again tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander Nick Blackburn (4-2) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Sidney Ponson (2-0) toes the rubber for the Rangers.
