Shoulder sends Twins SS Everett to 15-day DL
by The Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- Another problem has popped up for Minnesota's unstable middle infield.
Shortstop Adam Everett has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder. His pain is in a different place than the previous shoulder injury that sent him to the DL last month.
Everett says he's not sure how it happened, but it feels like a knife.
Infielder Matt Macri will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester.
Brendan Harris, who had been playing second, has been playing more at shortstop lately, with Alexi Casilla (kah-SEE'-yah) taking over at second. For now, Harris and Casilla will be the double-play combination. In today's game against Texas, they turned four of them.
Nick Punto and Matt Tolbert are already on the DL, leaving the Twins awfully short in the infield. Punto could be back in a week, but Tolbert will likely miss two months or more.
