Grad's dad Gardenhire misses game for ceremony

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Twins manager Ron Gardenhire missed last night's game against the Yankees to attend his daughter Tara's high school graduation ceremony.
Gardenhire set the lineup and the defense, but third base coach Scott Ullger took over the managerial duties for the game. He was glad his boss could take a night off for a memorable family milestone.
Also yesterday, the Twins optioned right-hander Bobby Korecky to Triple-A Rochester to make room in the bullpen for lefty Craig Breslow. He was claimed off waivers from the Indians.
