WJON Sports


The Twins began the post all star break with a 6-0 win at home against the Texas Rangers Friday night.  Minnesota scored 4 times in the 7th inning to break the game wide open.  Delmon Young led the Twins at the plate going 4-4 with 1 RBI, Alexi Casilla was 3-5 with 1 run scored, Jason Kubel was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs and Brian Buscher went 2-4 with 2 RBIs.  Glen Perkins and 3 relievers combined on the 3 hit shutout.  Perkins threw the first 6 innings with 3 hits allowed to get the win and improve to 7-2.  Craig Breslow, Jesse Crain and Boof Bonser each threw 1 scoreless inning.  The Twins improve to 54-42 and remain 1 1/2 games back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  Minnesota will host Texas again tonight at 6:10, pregame on WJON at 5:35.
