WJON Sports


The River Bats lost their 6th game in a row Saturday night 2-0 at home to the Thunder Bay Border Cats.  St. Cloud had won 15 of 16 games and their first 6 in the 2nd half prior to this losing streak.  The Bats are 6-6 in the 2nd half and 24-21 overall.  Thunder Bay scored single runs in the 2nd and 4th innings.  Three Border Cat pitchers combined on the 7-hit shutout.  Mark Canha and Brian Hernandez each had 2 hits for St. Cloud.  Ryan Sheldon started the game for the Bats and threw 7 innings with 6 hits and 2 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 6-2 this summer.  St. Cloud will play at Wausau, Wisconsin against the Wisconsin Woodchucks this afternoon at 5:05, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 4:35.
