More than 1,000 volunteers to clean up tornado-ravaged Hugo
by The Associated Press

HUGO -- More than 1,000 volunteers are expected in Hugo to help clean up debris from last Sunday's tornado.

Officials say they've been overwhelmed with calls offering support. In fact, the volunteers helping Saturday had already contacted the city to sign up several days ahead of time.

Meanwhile, family members have identified the Hugo woman who died after cleaning up debris on Wednesday.

Sixty-two-year-old Marilyn MacLennan was found unconscious and not breathing Thursday afternoon. Etta Erickson, a cousin of MacLennan, says she had been in good health before she collapsed.

Erickson says family members think dealing with the tornado's aftermath might have had an impact on MacLennan's health. Family members and authorities have said MacLennan died of an apparent heart attack.
