Minn. governor to tour Moorhead flood area
by The Associated Press

ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is set to get a firsthand look at flood-fighting efforts in Moorhead.

Pawlenty is scheduled to take a driving tour Friday of Moorhead and Oakport Township in Clay County. He'll be accompanied by Moorhead Mayor Mark Voxland.

Afterward, Pawlenty visits Minnesota National Guard soldiers at the Moorhead Armory.

Earlier this week, the governor declared a state of emergency in 28 Minnesota counties because of potential spring flooding and activated the National Guard to help in the flood fight.

The National Weather Service forecasts the swollen Red River to crest Sunday at 20 feet above flood stage in Moorhead and neighboring Fargo, N.D.
