Ventura: Coin flip helped him make Senate decision
by The Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura tells a Minneapolis television station that his decision not to run for Senate in 2008 came down to the flip of a coin.
Ventura spends most of his time in Mexico these days. He's in Minnesota to promote his new book, "American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies and More Dirty Lies the Government Tells Us."
He says he had considered running for Senate in the 2008 race between Norm Coleman and Al Franken. He says he talked it over with his wife, and about a half hour before the filing deadline, she suggested he flip a coin.
Ventura says he's happy with his decision not to run. He also didn't rule out running for office in the future, but says if that were to happen, he'd have to cut his hair.
