DULUTH -- U.S. Marshals have arrested a suspect in a weekend shooting that critically injured a Marine veteran in Duluth.
The 34-year-old St. Paul man was taken into custody Thursday in Minneapolis.
The victim _ 30-year-old David Goward Jr. _ was shot in the heart and is in critical but stable condition at a Duluth hospital.
Police say robbery was an apparent motive. It's believed that two guns were stolen from Goward.
Goward's father says his son spent four years in the Marines and one tour of duty in Iraq. Goward recently was living with his grandmother in Proctor, and had worked as a roofer and as a mortgage broker.
