UNH, NWA reports earnings this week

MINNEAPOLIS -- UnitedHealth Group is among five major Minnesota companies scheduled to report their quarterly earnings this week.

The results from UnitedHealth will be closely watched. Earlier this month it announced a restructuring that will trim 4,000 jobs and a $900 million payout to settle a class-action lawsuit over options backdating.

Shares in the company were up about $2 last week to close at nearly $24 on Friday.

Northwest Airlines is scheduled to report its performance on Wednesday, about a week after Delta Airlines reported a small operating profit in the second quarter.

The other Minnesota companies reporting this week are grocer Supervalu, insurer Travelers Company and diversified manufacturer 3M Company.
