EAST BETHEL -- The Animal Humane Society has rescued 30 roosters from an East Bethel home where authorities found splattered chicken blood, dead chickens piled in cabinets and fighting rings.
Two of the rescued roosters were injured.
The Humane Society went to the house yesterday, after the Anoka County Sheriff's Office busted a cockfighting ring over the weekend.
One man is in custody.
Anoka County Sheriff's Lieutenant Paul Sommer says 35-year-old Cher Kong has been charged with animal fighting and with possessing fighting animals.
Twenty-four other people have been cited for watching and taking part in the cockfights.
