Lesa Kramer
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
I have been a resident of Sartell for 15 years. My husband, Dan and I have one son, Brandon who is a fourth grader at Oak Ridge Elementary.
I graduated from Rocori High School and obtained my bachelors degree from St. Cloud State University.
What experience do you have that prepares you for public office?
I have been employed at Stearns County District Court for 21 years and have held the position of team leader for the financial division since 1997. I am active in the community by serving as member of the Sartell-St Stephen Community Education Advisory Board, member of the Sartell SummerFest planning committee, religious education assistant at St. Francis Xavier Church and having served as an election judge in the past for the City of Sartell.
Why did you decide to run for this office?
The biggest driving factor in my decision to run for school board are the children in our communities. I believe our school district is one to be proud of and I want to be part of a team to continue the quality education the residents for Sartell-St. Stephen have come to appreciate. My experience as a mother has given me the opportunity to become involved in the schools. It has been my pleasure to invest time in working with the students. Should I be elected to the school board I will have the chance to become more involved and to be able to give back to the community.
What are the top three issues you would tackle, if elected?
The question regarding what issues I would tackle if I am elected to school board is a tough question. If I am elected to the school board my first goal would be to invest time getting acquainted with Dr. Gasser and the other school board members. I think it is important to listen to the community to see what concerns they might have and continue working toward the visions the district has established. I have always admired the quality of education that the Sartell-St. Stephen school district has to offer and I would look forward to working together as a team to achieve those goals.
