Jan Solarz

Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
I am Jan Solarz and I have been a lifetime resident of this school district and a graduate of Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. I have been married to my husband Jerry for 30 years. We are the proud parents of 4 grown children who have all attended and graduated from Dist. 47.James and Jill both graduated from college and are now married. Jennifer and Jeffrey are in the process.

What experience do you have that prepares you for public office?
I have served on the Board of Education for 12 years and also have been an active volunteer for 22 years as a parent on various Advisory Council's and committee's for the district. I have been Outstanding Lay Person in Education and a recipient of the Governor"s Award for Volunteeterism.

Why you decided to run for this office.
I have a very strong commitment and dedication to this school district. I believe I can be a positive influence for the children and families in this community.
